Brainstorm. Idea web. Ideation. Mind map. Concept map. Topic map. Web design. Tree structure.
And now,
Wordle.
Progress through history is healthy and necessary whether its the marketing of Coke-Cola from
"Delicious and Refreshing"
to the current "Enjoy Coke-Cola"
or the ruling powers of Medieval monarchies
to modern Democratic-Republics.
Above we see the many types of idea formation frequently used in design sessions, corporate innovation, and classrooms. With the onset of ubiquitous technology to do practically anything and everything, Wordle has emerged as a fun and creative method of brainstorming. Children are always quick to grab onto the 'next new thing'. It excites them. Hey, it excites me too! While following this new creative idea structure, students will jump at the chance to include each word they can find that relates to the topic of their Wordle. It will spark them into exploring various avenues of their topic not originally considered or known much about.
As we learn here about Coordinates planes, some students may find themselves asking questions about angles, or equations, or maybe even polar coordinates!
Most importantly, students can see that coordinate planes are not an end of the road lesson. This road goes far into the world of mathematics, and it's up to them how far they want to travel down it!
